Deepavali and Jesus

In many countries around the world, people celebrate Deepavali as a festival of lights. It is a time of jubilation for many millions. As my fellow country men do this I can't help seeing some spiritual parallels in my faith. See I am a follower of Jesus who said "I am the light of the world."
If we go for a search in the vedas, we come across a prayer:

असतो मा सद् गमय। तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय। मृत्योर्माऽमृतं गमय॥६॥
asato mā sad gamaya tamaso mā jyotirgamaya
mṛtyormā’mṛtaṁ gamaya
Lead me from untruth to truth. Lead me from darkness to light.
Lead me from death to life.

Is it not amazing that Jesus makes some phonemenal statements in the Bible (as if He gives an answer to this prayer made some 800 years before Him). He says " "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)
"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." (John 8:12)
"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies (John 11:25)

Dear friend, it is my prayer for you that you may experience a real breakthrough from darkness to light this season.
